Woodio

The Woodio® material is a fully waterproof wood composite designed as an eco-friendlier alternative to ceramics and stone. Its ecological advantage comes from low water and energy consumption in production, high bio-content, light weight, and end-of-life recyclability.

The carbon footprint of Woodio products is up to 80% smaller than that of comparable ceramic and stone-based products.

Woodio® material is designed as an environmentally friendly alternative to high carbon footprint products and furnishings for wet rooms. Our mission is to combat climate change by replacing high carbon footprint materials with our innovation and design.

The material we’ve developed is a unique combination of wood chips and a resin-based binder. Our products are manufactured by casting into moulds. Unlike the production of ceramic products, for example, Woodio’s manufacturing process does not require high temperatures, generates minimal material waste, and water is only needed for colouring the wood chips.

Thanks to these factors, the carbon footprint of our products is today 80% smaller than that of traditional ceramics or stone-based products.

Woodio products are durable, easy to maintain, and unbreakable under normal use. The wood in our products stores carbon throughout its lifecycle. At the end of their life, the products can be disposed of as energy waste or returned to us for crushing and reuse in cement production.
